Within our Electronic Security Solutions (ESS) team, we go beyond traditional security, engineering integrated electronic security systems including IP-based access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection systems that safeguard people, nbsp;assets nbsp;and operations. The Design Engineer 2– Electronic Security nbsp;is a key member of the ESS Project Engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of electronic security systems across the project lifecycle—from nbsp;initial nbsp;concept through construction documentation and delivery support. Working across access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems, you will develop system designs, support project engineering activities, and collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure solutions meet technical and operational requirements. nbsp;You will work closely with Senior Design Engineers and engineering leadership, contributing to complex projects while continuing to develop technical nbsp;expertise nbsp;and design capabilities. What nbsp;You’ll nbsp;Do: Support the design of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection solutions. nbsp; Develop system concepts, specifications, and requirements aligned to client needs and project scope. Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), estimates, and supporting documentation for proposals and projects. nbsp; Develop and support design deliverables, including 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC drawings. nbsp; Provide technical coordination to support system architecture, installation, and integration activities. nbsp; Research, evaluate, and recommend security technologies and product solutions. nbsp; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design, engineering, and project delivery. nbsp; Support client engagement activities, including clarifying requirements and managing expectations. nbsp; Maintain project documentation and ensure alignment with design standards and requirements. nbsp; Provide guidance to junior team members and support issue resolution across projects. nbsp; Maintain knowledge of ESS technologies, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training. nbsp; nbsp;Physical Demands: Work is primarily performed in office or remote environments, with occasional exposure to construction sites. Employees nbsp;are responsible for nbsp;following all safety requirements and PPE standards when onsite. The role may involve extended periods on feet when onsite, along with use of standard office and technical equipment. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. nbsp; nbsp;Travel: Occasional travel by car and air is nbsp;required. A valid driver’s license nbsp;in state of residence is nbsp;required, and mileage will be reimbursed nbsp;in accordance with nbsp;company policy. nbsp; nbsp;What nbsp;You’ll nbsp;Bring: Education amp; Certifications: High school diploma or GED nbsp;required. Associates degree nbsp;required nbsp;and/or equivalent experience. Certifications or training with Milestone and Lenel preferred. Certifications or training with Genetec, Avigilon and S2 preferred. nbsp; Required Skills/Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in technical systems design. Proficiency nbsp;in AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office 365. Ability to obtain a government-issued nbsp;Top Secret nbsp;Clearance (US-based only). Clear understanding of project phases including program, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and commissioning.
