About this role

ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is an independent Australian commercial construction company, founded in 1988 with family business roots and now in its second generation of leadership, delivering design and construction projects nationally. The business specialises in childcare and education, medical and hospital, and veterinary sector projects, alongside general commercial office fit-outs and renovations. ABOUT THE ROLE You are here to produce accurate, coordinated and buildable documentation for the company's childcare, medical and veterinary projects. You will take established design intent, client requirements and consultant information and turn them into clear documentation that can be priced, approved and constructed. This is a documentation role, not a concept design role — you don't need to be the person developing the big design idea. The company needs someone who enjoys taking a design and making it work technically, documenting it properly and getting it ready to build. Documentation sits at the intersection of every other team on a project — Designers, consultants, clients, Technical and Delivery all feed into it, and this role is responsible for coordinating that information into one accurate, buildable set. PRIMARY PURPOSE To produce accurate, coordinated and timely construction documentation — taking established design intent, client requirements and consultant information and turning them into drawings and schedules that can be priced, approved and constructed, with minimal rework and minimal RFIs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ▸ Commitment to Clients and Quality Produce accurate, coordinated and timely documentation Review drawings thoroughly and identify gaps, clashes and risks Maintain design intent through the documentation process Coordinate information from Designers, consultants, clients, Technical and Delivery Maintain drawing revisions and project files Take ownership of documentation tasks and communicate issues early Work collaboratively and calmly under project deadlines ▸ What You'll Deliver Produce plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules for construction Develop documentation from established design concepts Coordinate architectural, interior, consultant and technical information Maintain accurate drawings and schedules through revisions Identify and resolve documentation issues before construction Meet agreed documentation milestones and project deadlines Support the Delivery team with documentation queries during construction ▸ Industry Technical Knowledge Apply demonstrated construction documentation experience to every drawing set Draw on a strong understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing Apply working knowledge of the NCC/BCA, Australian Standards and approval requirements Produce documentation in Revit and other relevant documentation software Recognise when further technical advice is required, and find the right person to ask ▸ Working Hours Full-time, aligned to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) business hours, working the same calendar as the Australian-based team COMPANY VALUES These values are non-negotiable: Make it happen — take ownership and get things done Know what you're doing — build technical knowledge and earn trust We are a family business — contribute to a positive and respectful culture We treat people well — work collaboratively and respectfully Required Experience Demonstrated experience producing construction documentation — plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules Comfortable developing documentation from an established design concept, rather than originating the design Experience coordinating architectural, interior, consultant and technical information into one buildable set Able to work full time on hours aligned to Australian business hours (AEST) Required Skills Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing Working knowledge of the NCC/BCA, Australian Standards and approval requirements Proficiency in Revi
