As Senior Mechanical Ground Systems Engineer at the Ground Systems department of Isar Aerospace, you will take part in shaping the development of the Ground Systems infrastructure. This includes ground equipment such as the Launch Table, Transporter/Erector, and Hold-Down-Release Mechanism as fundamental parts of the Launchpad, but also the design of equipment for Testing Facilities, R amp;D, qualification and acceptance of propulsion systems and rocket stages. You will work in close cooperation with other engineering departments as well, such as Propulsion Technology and Launch Vehicle, since their requirements drive the design of the ground support equipment. /p p class= p3 nbsp; /p p class= p4 Your Role in Our Space Mission: /p p class= p4 Reporting directly to the Manager, Mechanical Ground Systems the engineer's tasks are focused on but not necessarily limited to: /p ul class= ul1 li class= li4 Taking responsibility, ownership and accountability for mechanical (sub)systems as part of larger projects /li li class= li4 Managing requirements proactively between stakeholders for own (sub)systems as part of larger projects and defining Engineering Change Requests /li li class= li4 Providing technical guidance to and mentor junior/mid-level mechanical ground systems engineers and advising colleagues on matters of design of mechanical/structural ground systems /li li class= li4 Designing, planning and iterating mechanical and/or structural (sub)systems by means of calculation/CAD tools and numerical simulations span class= Apple-converted-space nbsp; /span /li li class= li4 Creating manufacturing and integration drawings including BOMs for practically manufacturable (sub)systems /li li class= li4 Performing trade-offs from subsystem level up to entire architectural approaches /li li class= li4 Selecting and procuring suitable hardware for (sub)systems based on requirements /li li class= li4 Be the technical point of contact for externals regarding realization of mechanical systems /li li class= li4 Writing technical documentation, conducting (sub)system design reviews and risk assessments /li li class= li4 Evaluating (sub)systems for compliance with environmental and safety regulations /li li class= li4 Planning of commissioning procedures/activities and providing support to operation crews with respect to commissioning activities during commissioning of owned (sub)systems /li li class= li4 Travel activity to construction and test sites for on-site coordination tasks /li /ul p class= p5 nbsp; /p p class= p1 strong Qualification Checklist /strong /p ul class= ul1 li class= li4 B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent /li li class= li4 7+ years of relevant professional experience in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or equivalent /li li class= li4 System-level mechanical architecture of complex ground support and launch infrastructure /li li class= li4 Excellent practical experience with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software incl. GD amp;T /li li class= li4 Advanced mechanical design and analysis across structures, mechanisms, pressure systems, fluid interfaces, and dynamic environments /li li class= li4 Strong understanding of manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and operational constraints /li li class= li4 Excellent analytical skills and ability to apply theoretical knowledge to find practical solutions for engineering challenges /li /ul p class= p4 nbsp; /p ul class= ul1 li class= li4 Adjusting self-sufficiently and quickly to changing work environment and priorities given by management, supporting the team /li li class= li4 Highly organized, efficient and effective team player with high attention to detail /li li class= li4 Proactive, open, effective, and constructive communication also in stressful situations
