About the Role We are seeking an experienced 3D Event Designer CAD Draftsperson to support the design and production of live events, installations, and custom fabrications. This role combines 3D modelling, photorealistic rendering, and technical CAD drafting. You will translate creative concepts, site information, and production requirements into detailed 3D visualisations and accurate technical drawings that can be used for client presentations, event planning, and fabrication. The ideal candidate combines strong creative visualisation skills with technical drafting capability and has experience working within events, exhibitions, experiential design, staging, production, or a closely related environment. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D models and visualisations for event concepts, layouts, installations, staging, and custom-built elements. Produce high-quality, photorealistic renders incorporating realistic materials, textures, lighting, branding, and environmental elements. Create accurate CAD drawings, including event layouts, site plans, build drawings, fabrication details, elevations, and other production documentation. Prepare technical drawings with appropriate dimensions, annotations, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) where required. Translate creative concepts and site information into practical, production-ready designs. Collaborate with event planners, production teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to refine designs based on project requirements and feedback. Prepare DWG, STEP, and other relevant technical files for vendors and fabrication teams. Support custom fabrication by ensuring drawings are clear, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing or CNC processes. Perform clash detection and review layouts to identify potential spatial or installation conflicts before production. Consider practical event-production requirements such as spatial planning, crowd flow, AV integration, accessibility, safety, and installation requirements. Optimise 3D models for presentations, virtual walkthroughs, and efficient file performance. Maintain organised design files, revisions, and project documentation. Manage multiple design projects while meeting production schedules and deadlines. Requirements Skills Experience Demonstrated experience in 3D design, CAD drafting, event visualisation, exhibition design, experiential design, staging, or a related discipline. Strong portfolio demonstrating both 3D visualisation/rendering and technical drafting capabilities. Proficiency with one or more 3D modelling/design platforms such as: SketchUp Vectorworks Autodesk products Rhino Maya Cinema 4D Strong CAD drafting capability using AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Vectorworks, or similar software. Experience with rendering tools such as Chaos V-Ray, Thea Render, Unreal Engine, or similar. Ability to produce detailed technical drawings suitable for event production and fabrication. Understanding of materials, lighting, textures, scale, dimensions, and spatial design. Knowledge of event-production considerations including layouts, staging, AV integration, crowd flow, and custom structures. Familiarity with BIM/clash-detection
