Job Title: Petition Preparer About the Client: Our client is a U.S.-based law firm that helps individuals navigate bankruptcy and debt-related legal matters. The firm provides legal support throughout the bankruptcy process, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. Overview: We're looking for a Petition Preparer to support the legal team in preparing and reviewing bankruptcy documents. This role involves gathering client information, preparing petitions and related forms, reviewing documents for accuracy, and maintaining organized case files. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling sensitive information in a fast-paced remote environment. Responsibilities : Document Preparation: Assist clients in preparing bankruptcy documents, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, and other required forms. Document Review: Review and proofread prepared documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal requirements. Client Communication: Communicate with clients via email, phone, or virtual meetings to gather necessary information and clarify any document-related queries. Research: Stay updated on bankruptcy laws, rules, and regulations to ensure documents are current and in compliance with legal standards. Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive client information with the utmost discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. File Management: Organize and maintain electronic files and documents, ensuring accessibility and security. Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of prepared documents. Qualifications: Previous experience as a petition preparer or in a similar document preparation role is preferred. setting. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
