Folia’s paper microwave reheat packaging improves microwave food quality and replaces plastic packaging. About the Role We are looking for a mid-career Packaging Engineer / Industrial Paper Packaging Designer with deep technical expertise in structural paper packaging design. We need a structural packaging specialist for Design for Manufacturing (DFM). This is not a branding or graphic design role, only physical / structural packaging design. You will create production-ready structural CAD files and parametric designs, while on-site teams handle manual prototype cutting and physical assembly at our facility. Key Responsibilities Structural Design CAD: Create precise, production-ready structural designs, dielines, and parametric models for paperboard and corrugated packaging using ArtiosCAD. Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Ensure designs optimize material yield, minimize waste, maximize structural integrity, and account for automated production constraints. Technical Documentation: Produce standard operating procedures, technical spec sheets, fold sequences, and assembly guides for production and sample teams. Remote Collaboration: Coordinate asynchronously with product managers, production teams, and on-site staff executing physical die-cutting and assembly. Requirements ArtiosCAD Mastery: Proven experience drafting and outputting dielines in ArtiosCAD (non-negotiable). Paper Corrugated Expertise: Strong technical understanding of paperboard, folding cartons, corrugated flutes, grain direction, and board grades. Engineering Mindset: Strong background in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Mid-Career Experience: 3 -7+ years of hands-on structural packaging design experience for manufacturing environments. Remote-Ready: Excellent written/verbal communication skills for clear asynchronous technical handoffs. Nice-to-Haves Experience with 3D visualization or rendering tools (e.g., Studio, SolidWorks, or Rhino). Familiarity with industrial paper packaging standards (e.g. FEFCO, ECMA).
